According to the rules of procedure, the commission has the following tasks:
- It advises the Extended University Management on issues of equality and diversity and on the development of strategic principles for promoting equal opportunities and diversity at UZH (advice).
- It responds to inquiries from the Extended University Management on the topics of equality and diversity from the perspective of the faculties and cantons («sounding»).
